We went out to dinner for my birthday at one of my favorite restaurants. They have amazing blackberry cobbler! I realized while at dinner that I went to this same restaurant last year for my birthday! I am a creature of habit.

This is an old ceiling tin from a building in New York City. I have many ceiling tins in my house but this one is my favorite. You can see that it was a corner piece. I get all my ceiling tins from Olde Good Things in downtown LA. It's a great store. They make mirrors out of ceiling tin as well that I'll post about soon.

The 365 Day Challenge--Day 27

This picture was taken Friday night but I'm just getting around to posting it, so it will be my day 27 picture.  I took this picture at my 38th concert for my favorite band, O.A.R.  I have been listening to them since my junior year of high school (1997), when they were just starting out as a college band at Ohio State.  I did not get to see them live until May of 2001 because they did not tour much in TN or CA.  Whenever they come to CA I always seem them, sometimes multiple times!  It used to be a *must* that I be on the front row of their concerts--I would get there early and stand in line.  Now I time it just right to get there right before they go on and usually stand or sit in the back!  Oh how times have changed, but I still love the music just as much!

The 365 Day challenge--Day 25

I know I'm behind a few days...but I finally found something to post about...my favorite ice cream! It is the February flavor of the month at Baskin Robbins, called Love Potion #31. It is white chocolate ice cream swirled with raspberry ice cream and little chocolate hearts with raspberry filling inside. I've been calling around to local Baskin Robbins asking when they'd get it and finally its here! I was given a five gallon container (the size they scoop from in the store) two years ago and it lasted all year! Go try it! It will only be there until the end of February!

Also, I just wanted to mention all the friends who have birthdays today and yesterday: my mother in law, Cozette, Bevin, Andrew, and Donnon's whose birthday was yesterday.

I go through phases with the Coffee Bean but right now I'm definitely on a kick. I quit redbull but now I have this-wonder which is worse? Oh and the reason this picture is fuzzy is because it's raining in LA today!!!

In LAX this morning I was directed to go down this looooong hallway to get to my gate. It was very odd and I thought surely this wasn't right because no one was in the hallway. I was running late so I figured I didn't have time to second guess. It turned out to be an underground corridor to another terminal. I guess Delta is in both terminal 5 and 6!

We are waiting in line to drop off old computers, DVR's, etc. at one of the Hazardous Waste Drop of in LA. PLEASE don't put your e-waste (computers, TV's, batteries, etc) in the trash! They do not belong there. If you're in LA you can find drop off sites here.

365 Day Challenge--day 7

For the life of me I couldn't find a suitable picture today. This is getting hard. Maybe I do to much of the same everyday...haha. I'm going to cheat and post a pic from last week while we were in Ft. Lauderdale. The pic below was in a store in our hotel. This old beach chair was at the bottom of the ocean probably for quite a while. Notice all the barnacles growing on it and then notice the sign. Let's just say I did send this picture to her telling her if I didn't like her I would have sent this to her! But luckily I DO! She's the best ma-in-law I could ask for.
Anyone that would like to play a joke on your mother-in-law (or not) I've got the store's number! Or you could go diving for one yourself...

We went to a wedding on Saturday night in Sacramento and this picture of the couple during their first dance shows the true joy of being married! Congratulations Kyle and Jana!

The 365 day challenge-- day 2

This is the view from our hotel room in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. I have been coming here my entire life and I love this place. I have so many memories here. Tomorrow we are off to destination 3 of our holiday trip: sacramento for a wedding.

The 365 day challenge-- day 1

Jan 1 we were headed to Everglades National Park. I had heard about this amazing fruit stand called "Robert is Here" just outside the park. They had every fruit you could think of and had Avacados the size of Grapefruits! You could get any flavor of smoothie or milkshake you could imagine. I had banana and Chris had Coconut/Chocolate/Banana.

The 365 day challenge

I read about this on my friend Vanessa's blog. It is a challenge to take a picture of something in your surroundings every day for a year and post it and blog about it. I am not great about blogging but I have downloaded an app on my blackberry that will hopefully allow me to post from my blackberry. It will be very easy for me to post from my phone. I can't say the picture quality will be great though! I of course will continue to do regular posts about trips and things as well.

For now I know the formatting will be off on my posts so until I can get to a computer (Sunday) that will have to wait.

I know some of my friends will enjoy this and hopefully will start it too!

So now I will catch up with the past two days. More to come...
