These are some pictures of our wedding invites, inserts, programs and menus....all printed on this press!!!  These were not made by hand setting type like you see above.  A photopolymer plate was made from a digital image and pressed into the paper.  I found the best calligrapher EVER in Massachusetts, Maria Thomas at Pendragon.  She wrote out our invitations and then I had the plate created to press from and here they are.  They were my favorite thing from our wedding (besides Chris, of course!)  Check out more of her amazing products on her online store, Maria Thomas Online.

Our Second Anniversary!

Today we are celebrating 2 years of marriage!  I get to have a slumber party with my best friend every night and life is so awesome!  This weekend we're going back to Palm Springs to the site of our engagement so we'll be sure to take pictures there, but first, a few pictures of the big day, 2 years ago!

Our First Anniversary

Today Chris and I are celebrating our first wedding anniversary. I will do a separate post on how we celebrated the weekend but I wanted to dedicate a post to this day. Almost 8 years ago I met Chris when I had just moved to California and little did I know that I had met the man I'd marry! I have truly found my best friend and even though we are different in a lot of ways, we complete each other perfectly. People told us that the first year of marriage can be tough, but its been the exact opposite for us. It's been wonderful. Coming home from work every day is so exciting knowing that I get to spend the rest of the evening with the same person, every day. We knew each other so well after almost 7 years that there were no surprises or anything once we got married. That was key to the first year of marriage being so great. Here's to many more years!!

We're celebrating our 1 year anniversary this weekend!

Our wedding photos are going to be published!

I got an email from our wedding photographer, Michael Norwood a few days ago telling us that Southern Wedding Style Magazine, which focuses on southern weddings, had found some of our wedding photos on a blog and wanted to publish our pictures in an upcoming issue! Michael is an amazing photographer and he deserves all the credit. He created wonderful pictures to last a lifetime. I participated in a message board on The Knot during our wedding planning to get ideas and referrals from other brides from the Nashville area that really helped me since I was planning from LA. The original blog found my pictures from my bio on this website that shows some of our wedding pictures to help other girls get ideas, just like I did when I was planning. The original blog is here (scroll down to the post on May 14) and the magazine's blog is here, where we're featured as "Southern Wedding of the Week" (post on May 15).

I'm especially honored that they mentioned my veil in the first blog and also in the comments. My veil was so special to me as I designed it with the help of my mother in law, and then she made it! It was truly special and unique.

Those of you who know me know I'm completely obsessed with letterpress and I worked so hard on our wedding invitations. The fact that they talked about our invitations that I letterpressed on in the second blog makes me smile!
